Advanced All-Laser iLASIK and iDesign Technology

iDesign Advanced WaveScan Studio Logo and Equipment

Since laser vision correction surgery was introduced and became FDA approved almost two decades ago, it has only evolved. This has resulted in major advancements in technology, as well as enhanced safety and improved visual outcomes.   Many patients are surprised to learn that traditional LASIK involves the use of a metal blade.  The surgeons at Stahl Eyecare Experts only perform All-Laser LASIK. This offers a premium level of safety and accuracy. iLASIK has FDA approval to treat a broad range of visual imperfections including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

iDesign wavefront technology is the most recent advancement offered at Stahl Eyecare Experts in New York City.  iDesign allows the surgeon to custom measure and map your eye using corneal topography. This leads to the treatment of more complex problems such as blurring, glare, and halos. The custom map of your unique eyes is programmed into the excimer laser, allowing for the greatest precision during LASIK.

Stahl Eyecare Experts are very excited to offer this combination of iDesign and iLASIK technology. Most patients who meet the general age and health requirements are now good candidates for iLASIK. Recovery is amazingly fast, so that you can get back to your busy life. In fact, most patients resume normal activities as soon as the next day.

LASIK Manhattan Cost

If you are interested in LASIK eye surgery in Manhattan, you may also be wondering how to afford the cost of LASIK. Think about how much you actually spend on your glasses or your contacts and contact lens solution over time.  LASIK seems expensive because you have to pay for the procedure up-front. LASIK surgery is a permanent solution, and most people can eliminate their expensive glasses and contacts.

If you add up your costs for glasses or contacts plus solution over ten years, you will see that LASIK will save you money! Now think about what you could do with the money you’ll save when you get LASIK. The possibilities are endless!

Our staff at Stahl Eyecare Experts will do everything we can to help you afford the benefits of LASIK vision. We have a series of options to make the cost of LASIK more affordable. If you qualify for a laser vision correction procedure like LASIK, you shouldn’t have to worry about if you can afford to pay for it! Stahl Eyecare Experts has partnered with the CareCredit® card, North America’s leading patient payment program.  This is a specialized credit card for medical procedures that offers convenient monthly payment plans.

Stahl LASIK surgeons take part in many LASIK insurance plans, preferred provider organizations, and panels that provide for a reduced price on LASIK, or in some cases actually cover the procedure. Many patients use their employer’s medical flexible spending plans to manage payment with pre-tax dollars. Call today to get started with the best LASIK experience in New York City!

Scheduling LASIK Evaluations and Determining LASIK Cost

If you are interested in having LASIK eye surgery, you will need a complete eye examination with one of our surgeons.  There are different types of eye vision correction procedures depending on the condition of your eyes, and the costs may vary.  We will accurately assess the condition of your eyes during your pre-operative evaluation and explain which procedure may be best for you. If LASIK cost is an issue for you, please visit our financing page to review the affordability options.

PRK Manhattan

Although LASIK eye surgery is an amazing surgical procedure, it may not be right for everyone. Another vision correction procedure available is photorefractive keratectomy, or PRK. PRK is for patients who are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. Like LASIK, PRK uses an excimer laser to reshape the cornea and improve vision. Unlike LASIK, there is no corneal flap created. Instead, the outer layer of the cornea is removed completely.

Chart Showing the Steps of PRK

The next step is identical to that of LASIK. The VISX Star S4 excimer laser, using either iDesign or CustomVue software, reshapes the cornea’s inner layers. PRK only takes a few minutes to perform and causes no pain. Most patients can return to their daily activities within 48 to 72 hours after the procedure. Their vision continues to improve for up to three months after having PRK.
